SERVICES & PROGRAMS

What we do

Please call our office at 256-437-6606 for assistance with any of our programs or visit our office, located at 304 South Andrews Street in Downtown Scottsboro, Alabama. Office Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-4pm.

Student Outreach and Achievement Program (SOAP)

This program was implemented to provide support to school age children and their families. The goal of the program is to provide a free, safe place for less fortunate kids and their families of the community to come in and wash their clothes, take a shower, and eat a snack. Caseworkers also have an allotted amount of money to purchase emergency items such as shoes, clothes, food, and school supplies. We hope that with this program we can help save lives by eliminating school bullying by providing equal opportunities to students and families.

Day Program

Members of the community can come into the facility to utilize the showers, washers, dryers, and eat snacks or a hot meal.

Night Program

From mid-December to mid-March, LRS partners with multiple churches and organizations to provide warm, safe shelter for our clients in need. LRS provides the mattresses, linens, meals, and transportation to and from the shelter location. The churches and organizations sponsor the program by providing the shelter space for clients to spend the night.
